We the undersigned support the UICC campaign, "I love my smoke-free childhood", by endorsing the following campaign statement:
All children are entitled to a safe smoke-free environment in which to live and play. The governments and peoples of the world should take all steps necessary to ensure this right.
Therefore, we urge parents to protect their children by making their homes and cars smoke-free, keeping their children away from places where smoking is allowed, and demanding that childcare facilities, schools and other public places be smoke-free.
We urge health-care providers to inform all parents about the dangers of second-hand smoke and offer guidance to parents who smoke on how to quit.
We urge governments to educate their peoples about the dangers of second-hand smoke, ban smoking in vehicles carrying children, and outlaw smoking in all public environments.

About UICC
UICC is the leading international non-governmental organization dedicated exclusively to the global control of cancer. Its vision is of a world where cancer is eliminated as a major life-threatening disease for future generations.
UICC's mission is to build and lead the global cancer control community engaged in sharing and exchanging knowledge and competence, transferring scientific findings to clinical, patient and public settings, systematically reducing and eliminating disparities in prevention, early detection and treatment, and delivering the best possible care to people living with cancer throughout the world.
UICC coordinates World Cancer Day on 4 February each year, supported by members, partners, the World Health Organization, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other international bodies. UICC's World Cancer Campaign aims to scale up awareness of the fight against cancer, which in many countries still takes a back seat to other public health priorities.
